Wonderful African Safari Wildlife Park!

Have you been to the African Safari Wildlife Park in Ottawa County, Ohio? If not, you should add it to your list!

On a recent trip to the Erie Island area, with Sara Broers we were invited to visited this wonderful treasure. We soon saw all there is to do in this amazing park! To get the full experience the Zoo-it-all-pass is the way to go!

Drive Thru the African Safari

Sara had told me, “You are in for an adventure.”

I had no idea how right she was. What an amazing opportunity. After obtaining your tickets, you get a cup of food, hold it from the bottom and drive through with your car. With the windows down, animals come up and can “dine” from the cup. You get to see them up close and personal! Llamas, alpaca’s, fallow and Sika deer and more come on up and some even try to come on into the car!

We did drive on when the HUGE!!! Highlander sheep started stalking our direction, he was a bit big for our comfort.

It was amazing to see the beautiful and graceful giraffes and zebras during our drive as well.

The Walk Thru Area

This amazing park has both a drive thru and walk thru area. This offers two totally different experiences. There were a lot of unusual animals like the White alligator and the warthogs. It is like a Disney movie come to life all set in a cool nature garden. Geese and black swans were in the midst of the area adding to the beauty.

Interactive Opportunities at the African Safari

What I really loved in the walk thru area are the interactive opportunities. Who says you can’t still act like a kid? I sure did the day we visited. In the Aviary Adventure with a free Budgie Feed Stick the beautiful birds land right on the stick! With over 400 of them Sara and I were mesmerized!

For $10.00 I got to ride a camel. For a short circle I swayed back and forth having a great adventure!

Fifty-one seasons African Safari has been open!

This wonderful educational gem has been offering educational opportunities for the public for half a century. If in the area, take advantage of the chance to see nature in a respectable, responsible way. Sara and I had a wonderful time on this sponsored stop. My only wish is that I had the grandkids with me!

If you enjoyed reading about a chance to see wildlife here, you would also enjoy a visit to Dogwood Canyon, read about that experience as well!
