Myers Grill, a Williamsburg, IA Hidden Treasure

So we were eating a huge spread at A Touch of Home at the bed and breakfast we were staying at in Amana Colonies the first weekend in December and one of the guests mentioned a great place to eat called Myers Grill.
Always on the lookout for a new dining experience we headed to Williamsburg. We almost drove past the restaurant, it is located in a driveway and the grill is a converted garage.
Walking in past the kitchen, Chef Michael was cooking away and we took one of the empty tables (most were filled, there are only nine) and sat down. Tracey Myers waited on us; bringing an erasable board she gave us menus and propped up the specials of the day which were written on the board. We were still taking in the decor of concrete floor, graffiti on the walls, some racing memorabilia and the one room size of it all.
On the board was a special, bacon wrapped pork filet with mustard sauce. We decided to give it a whirl and I ordered the vegetable soup as well.
Amazing! Wonderful! Spectacular! While these are quotes off the wall, they are right, the food was delectable. “I love the vegetable soup,” Tracey Myers said. “He uses his left over Prime Rib.”
Nothing fancy, a quiet oasis in the heart of Iowa. While Williamsburg is known as the home of the outlet mall, location of John Kinzenbaw’s International Harvester collection and being near the historic Amana Colonies, this restaurant needs to be added to the list!
Another fun fact is every year they enter the contest to grow the tallest corn in Iowa. They grow the corn right along their fence line. Nothing about this stop is expected, come with an open mind and empty stomach!
Myers Grill & Catering is located at 303 S. Highland Street, Williamsburg, Iowa 52361. They offer dining and catering services. The phone number is 319-668-2321.
