Eagles along the Rock River

Eagles along the Rock River

Although not clear in this picture, when my friend Patty and I visited the Black Hawk Historic site in Rock Island, Illinois after attending the Quad Cities Farm Show, we saw a flurry of Eagles in the limbs of these trees that border the lovely Rock River. It brings to mind the words of the song, “Fly like an eagle….” by the Steve Miller Band.

The majestic wing span that can be as wide as 7″ inspire thoughts of fantasy. Steve Miller said it best!

“I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Till I’m free
Fly through the revolution…”
