Tribute to volunteers at Half a Century
We recently returned from the Half Century of Progress Show and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The show took place without a hitch at least nothing visible to they eye. Author and farm broadcaster Orion Samuelson’s plane had mechanical issues and he didn’t make it to the show, but that is the only off the radar thing that I can think of.
Working with the planners, I write about what takes place at this show and help out with the show book and know that it takes an army to pull off a show of this magnitude. I think a hand of applause should go out to the volunteers who plant the crops, ready the grounds, plan the activities, send out the information, man the booths and on and on. I snapped this picture of a few of the workers at the show and just want to say thank you the them and all the others not pictured, for all you do!
Without volunteers, this and most other community events would be just a nice thought rather than a reality.
