Fall auctions offer fun for collectors
With the changing colors of the leaves and the fun fall festivals, the season brings fall auctions. I put together some upcoming auctions you might enjoy!
This time of year, many collectors switch their attention from antique farm equipment to farm toys this time of year. Those collectors will be interested in the fall sale Girard Auctions is having at their Wakonda, South Dakota location.
For this October 4, 2017 auction, you won’t have to leave the house because it is an online only auction featuring farm toy and DCP trucks. The auction features 300 plus pieces from Larry Jordan’s collection of over nearly 100 DCP 1/64th truck. You can view the catalog ten days prior to the auction, giving you plenty of time to pick out the particular toy you want!

Many collectors look to Aumann Auctions fall auction as a season kickoff. For some this has become a bit of a yearly tradition.
Held in Nokomis on October 20-21, 2017, Aumann Auctions will begin the weekend on Friday, selling toys, memorabilia and literature and then on Saturday they will sell tractors. Equipment is consigned and the sale includes a lot of unusual items, like a Blue G 1000, Best 30 crawler, John Deere 620 orchard, and a very cool Minneapolis Moline UTC High Clearance tractor.
This auction is really bringing some items not often seen like the Ransoms MG2 crawler that was imported from the United Kingdom. This crawler is electric start.

For a bit of fun, that includes travel and maybe some beautiful fall scenery, you might want to think about heading to Canada for the Switzer Auction.
October 16, 2017, Switzer Auctions is hosting the Alma Thibault Estate and the late Laurent Thibault estate sale which includes a few antique tractors. There is a 1953 JD AR Gas Tractor, S/N 282915 which has a serial number tag with the interesting wording, “patents applied for”. There is also a Ford 8N and a Ford Golden Jubilee that will be auctioned off. There are Minneapolis Moline tractors for sale including a MM GB Gas tractor cab which is quite interesting.
