Ansar Ag Corp Ride rides near Palmer, Illinois
It is always a great day for a tractor drive, especially when it is a drive for a good cause! Jay Germann of the Ansar Ag Corp said that the Ansar Ag Corp raises money for Shriner’s Children. Their motto is, “Come Ride With Shriners So Children Can Walk!!” There was no charge to join in the ride, however, a free will donation was accepted.
Sunday June 26th, the Ansar Ag Corp tractor drive began in Palmer, Illinois. The drive had 30 tractors, side-by-side vehicles, and a 1937 Dodge Bros truck. The truck belongs to Mark Dozier who was heading up the drive. The drive began on the square in Palmer with two stops to view Duane and Mark Dozier’s antique tractor collection. Their collection includes many rare tractors like a Frazier tractor that is the only one known to currently exist. Duane was on hand to greet and visit with collectors.
The Drive
“I opened up two sheds. We went around 28 miles,” Mark Dozier shared. Many of the same collectors that took part in the Ride for Russel, were on hand for this tractor drive. A nice variety of tractors hit the countryside.
Dinner was supplied by the Brothers of Mason Morrisonville Lodge #681. “We do this every year,” Mark said.
Previous years rides have been in the Mount Auburn, area. They started from Calvin Elder’s farm. At this year’s drive, Calvin had his 1952 Farmall Super M with M & W equipment. Calvin’s father bought the tractor. Calvin has memories of farming with his grandfather on. this tractor.
Others made memories touring through the countryside. Then, there were the Ladage brothers that congregated and made memories after the fact!
A ride that helps children is a win/win!
Jay Germann listed a group of sponsors that provided prizes for the drive, Sievers Equipment, Battery Specialists, Dollar General, Central IL Ag, Jenner Ag, Buzzard’s Roost, Donnelly Automotive, Agri-Gold, Dozier Farms, Roland Machinery, Commodity Central FS.
