Winter Travel Essentials for 2024
Who doesn’t need a few items to make travel easier and more fun? I know that I do and like to share hacks and tips I have learned. This is an evolving list, keep checking back for new additions! I started a winter essentials list back in 2024, and love continuing this fun tradition.

Romance for Valentine’s Day – Fun for Easter!
I am always looking for a way to make Valentine’s Day special. Sometimes I find that the best ideas come from others. That is the truth with a post from the Epicurean Traveler who offers 12 Charming Romantic Getaways in the Midwest. . I find I have been to most of the stops, (with about three or four exceptions) and find she is spot on!
I am planning a romantic dinner at a nearby Route 66 stop Doc’s in Girard, Illinois for our celebration. What’s better than a meal out, and one with a bit of history too boot!
Fun items for the kids and others on Valentine’s Day and Easter
Puffin Drinkwear sent me some fun cozy can coolers. These are so much fun. I am keeping the parka and sharing the others with grandkids!
Good books are always another special item that are great gifts. I just finished Charlene Wexler’s Murder on Skid Row. It is a fast-turning story of a dentist that gets mixed up in Chicago’s underbelly. However, the characters are sad, funny, and she shares a heart wrenching tale of how circumstances can shape us as much as good intentions.
Looking Good
As hard as I try to keep clothes intact on the road, sometimes things don’t look as good as they should. I received Lint Zapper (see photo above) to try. With 40 sticky sheets you just remove one and use it for pet dancer lint or more. Today, I put on a shirt and my husband told me I had lint on the back. We just zapped it right off. I am keeping this with me in my purse!
