Easter Monday

Easter week is filled with stories of Jesus, His life, His death, and then his resurrection. Easter Monday, is called Bright Monday or Renewal Monday! I am just learning this is the celebration of Jesus resurrection. Did you know that in Lutheran Churches it is the celebration of the empty tomb. The post-resurrection appearances of Jesus! This is all found in the Gospel of Luke 24.

It is easy to think Easter is over. The celebrations, the feasts and family time have for many come to an end. But in the spring flowers, the greening of the leaves of the trees, I see the continuation. The life, of a risen Lord asking me to do one thing, trust.

He calls to me

to trust Him

Through good times and bad.

He call to me to

trust Him

Whether I am happy

or I am sad.

Leaning on another

is against my will

By He wants me waiting’

Yielded and still

Perhaps the journey

I am traveling, the road upon which I’m set

Is to further my future

Where faith

Is truly met.

So I will follow Easter Monday

I will see renewal clean and bright

On Easter Monday

I am trusting the Lord with all my might.
