With the stillness of the cold winter days there is beauty, time for reflection. The cold can seep into the body requiring a bit of extra care for both our mental health, skin and physical well-being. I love sharing products I have found that can make our life better and easier. Check back from time to time, because I add to winter travel essentials as I find things!
Help for the skin!

White Lotus Beauty arrived at my door to review this amazing set of products for winter travel essentials. On their website they share, “White Lotus is the recognized industry expert in Traditional Eastern Cosmetic solutions. Since 2004 White Lotus has been the leading pioneer in introducing the concepts of cosmetic acupuncture, holistic microneedling, jade rollers, cosmetic cupping and gua sha to an international mainstream audience. The founders Anthony and Kamila are both bestselling authors and speakers in the field of Traditional Chinese Cosmetic Medicine.”
Last night I tried out the White Lotus Crystal facial using the hand carved A grade crystal of activated Jade and Turmaline with the Face Serum. The packaging is lovely, and I liked the feel as it glided across my skin. The green tea oil felt wonderful making my hands and skin feel smooth. The facial cupping brought blood to the surface refreshing. On their website read about all the details!
It is not always easy to keep clean when traveling, and Handzies natural soap wipes take care of this issue. When caring for little ones, or just for a spruce up in the car. This dermatologist tested wipes that I tried are tangerine scented and work without the soap and water. Then there are also the smaller wipes as well.

Looking for something to inspire you during the shorter days, and longer nights. Check out The Gandhi Book of Quotes, A collection of speeches, quotations, essays and advice. Edited by Travis Hellstrom, in the introduction, it is stressed, “His emphasis on simplicity, self-discipline and service became the cornerstone of his philosophy, inspiring countless movements for civil rights and freedom across the globe”
Right off the bat, one of the quotes that really made me reflect is, “A man is but the product of his thoughts, What he thinks, he becomes.”
While I usually head towards the fiction aisles, this book offers inspiration for the new year. As Ghandi shares, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Finding the sun. Winter came early this year to the Midwest dumping ten inches of heavy snow in our laps. With the shorter days, and cooler temperatures, it is easy to want to hibernate. I think warm blanket, hot chocolate, Netflix series and good book. However, it is still important to stay healthy and exercise and get in some sunshine. I noticed one day my Apple Watch records the amount of sun I get each day. That is a reminder to seek out opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of God’s nature. I love to visit indoor botanical gardens and see flowers and bright light; this lifts my spirits in the midst of occasional winter grey. My daughter made the comment the other day that the dead of winter offers some of the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets, she is right.

This time of year sometimes it is hard to take a big trip, but that small one to the restaurant of your choice. or to a faith filled stop can reinvigorate you. As part of our church activities, Trinity Travels just went to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, and we got the chance to tour the chapel and more.

These are just a few winter travel essential ideas to help make your winter fun. Return to check out what’s new!
