Fun at the Moonrise Hotel
When staying downtown or in the Loop neighborhood in St. Louis, the place to be is the way cool Moonrise Hotel (http://www.moonrisehotel.com/). Owner Joe Edward has created a hotel filled with his collectible items relating to space travel from landing on the moon to astronaut collectibles.
At the Moonrise they offer special themed rooms named after movie stars and notables like Agnes Moorehead and more from the St. Louis area. From the cat and dog feeding stop to the colorful stairs that change colors and the revolving moon on the hotel roof that can be viewed from the new rooftop bar, everything about this hotel is fun.
The neighborhood didn’t all start out fun though, Joe Edwards took a chance staking business in what was once a run down area. Edwards and other caring business men and women with a vision literally took back the area, one business at a time. Edwards has made the Loop a great place to shop, eat and enjoy entertainment like at his first endeavor, Blueberry Hill where rock and roll legend Chuck Berry performs one Wednesday a month.
“I opened the hotel four years ago,” Joe Edwards said. “Little by little people from all economic starts come here. This is a real mix and intermingles of all ages and races, it is a wonderful area. Delmar is one of the great streets in America.”
Come see for yourself and use the Moonrise as your mother ship, branch out and shop at some of the fun shops along Delmar and take a minute to check out the St. Louis Walk of Fame.
