Mother’s Day finds for 2025!
Mother’s Day will be here before we know it! Are you ready? Whether you are celebrating the day with your mom, someone, you love like a mom, there are lots of fun choices. While the gift of time is the most precious gift, of all, getting together is not always possible.

The first proclamation of Mother’s Day in 1870 was by Julia Howe asking women everywhere to join for world peace. Mom’s settle differences between siblings, family members and add peace and tranquility to most homes. Mom’s and their day of celebration are special! It is only fitting to take the day and celebrate! Below are a few ideas, keep coming back as new gift ideas are added!
Trips!
My mom loves to go places with us. While she wasn’t present at my last outing, it is a great Mother’s Day getaway in Amana Colonies. A stay at the Die Heimet Inn offers beauty in peaceful surroundings in one of the Amana Colonies. Right next to Die Heimet is the Homestead Folk Art Museum. Located in a former Amana General Store, the setting is iconic and filled with Amana crafts and art sharing a bit about their historic past.
Jewelry
When traveling jewelry is always my takeaway souvenir. While of course, I have more jewelry than I need, I don’t have more than I want! What joy to receive a piece from Mimosa handcrafted jewelry to review. I received a beautiful little gold squirrel a perfect accompaniment to any outfit.

With this being a spring holiday, I love to connection to nature. Since spring is the time of awakening, and the animals are rousing from a long winter’s sleep. Mimosa has a variety of jewelry from necklaces to rings and bracelets. There is something for everyone from this fun line. My favorite piece ever was a barred owl bracelet I got a while back.

Feel Good gifts
In my family, sweet smelling soap and lotions are great gifts. We all love to have matching scents in our soap, lotion and cologne! There is one soap brand that is both multipurpose and filled with a message. That is Dr. Bonner’s 18-in-one Hemp Lavender Pure-Castile Soap that also can come with a Refill. I received this soap to try. The soap serves as a body soap, cleaning tool, shampoo, and more. As advertised, it is “all-one”. I used it in my bath and loved the Lavendar smell. The soap comes in a variety of other fragrances as well. I love the fact that this soap, can be diluted to clean, or use just a few drops to use as a shaving cream. So versatile.

Dr. Bonner also has messages on his bottle, in fact, there is barely any free space. His moral code is, “1st: If not for me, who am I? Nobody! 2nd: Yet, if I’m only for me, what am I? Nothing! 3rd: If not now, when?!” So begins Emanuel Bronner’s Moral ABC. The message is clear: We are responsible for ourselves but also each other, and as we grow, we must grow responsibly.” This is a fun way to share a message of God’s love and try a very usable product at the same time.
I have long been a fan of JR Liggett’s travel bars. While I had tried the shampoo and shaving bar, I had not tried the Body Oil Bar. They sent this to me to sample, and I really like the soap, the fact that there is a little wooden frame to hold it, and the moisturizing aspect. For anyone traveling, these are great, they won’t spill like liquid shampoo and leave the hair silky soft. Plus, they are ecofriendly!

Books!
If your mom is like mine, she is a big reader. She especially likes Christian books but likes all genres. She was too kind with her praise for my newly released book Farm Girl Adventures, a short story collection. This new book, Farm Girl Adventures was my first with the publisher, House of Honor. Jack LaFountain and his wife Kim brought my short story collection to life.

My antique tractor collector friend, Rick Shaw , who is a House of Honor author, and Antique Iron Media blogger, encouraged me to work with them. Rick had a recent big win when his book, New Perspectives, was published as an audiobook. If you enjoy listening while on the road, give it a try.

My book was published in time for the Books, Authors and Publishers (BAP) Book fair. in Nashville, Tennessee, I set up with Farm Girl Adventures with Rick and his books. While at the fair, I bought a nice collection of books to read. I always have to have something in hand, and I know that books make a great gift! I recently finished Kill the Music by Ken Vanderpool. It was very good. I also just finished Johnny B Goode by Keisha C Willie. Keisha’s book was a page turner that you don’t want to read too late at night.

I finished the thriller Tybee Island H Bomb by Michael Houtchen. It is a fun read and based on a historical fact. I also loved Jack LaFountain’s book, Bayou Moon. The book had a supernatural aspect, but I particularly liked the southern flavor. Both Jack and Keisha are House of Honor writers, and Jack is the publisher. Several of these books are outside of my main read and have expanded my reading horizons! One of these books may make for a perfect gift for mom! They can all probably be found on Amazon!
Health for the mind and the body

The book Land Rich Cash Poor by Brian Reisinger is an emotional ride for a farmer. I received this to review. As I have mentioned before, farming is not just a career, it is a way of life. That old adage you can take the boy off the farm but can’t take the farm out of the boy (or girl) is true. This book touches on the disappearing American Farmer, and what a toll it is taking on America’s culture and future. I share snippets with my farmer husband, and it ends up in a major discussion because it sparks memories and stories. Any farm family will want to read this together.
Shelfy is a device to put in the refrigerator that I received. It extends the freshness of your food and takes up little space. The device is quiet, easy to install, and makes me feel like I am turning my refrigerator into a cleaner, healthier environment.

Does mom garden, can or preserve food? When I married my husband, he farmed for Bob and Betty, and Betty taught me how to freeze, can and garden. My grandpa was an avid garderner, and he showed me some of his tips. While I have a bit of trouble with the heat these days and my husband does most of the gardening, I do put up the garden bounty. These wonderful books I received from Stephanie Thurow and Michelle Bruhn to review share it all! There is Can It & Ferment It, Small Scale Homesteading, Weck Small Batch Preserving, and Weck Home Preserving. Looking through these marvelous books, I see recipes that I plan on trying. Since it is spring, I am especially enamored with the strawberry jams I see. What I like too is there are step by step so if it is your first go round, or several, you can follow the directions, and there is a wide variety of items to grow, can, ferment, pickle and more! This is a gift that will keep on giving through the year as you enjoy the things you made!
Time for mom on Mother’s Day
Whether heading out to a fun place to eat dinner, or having dinner in, whatever you do, time is what most of us want. That is not always possible when mom is a way away, but thinking of her with a call, letter, or even a text is a great way to let her know you care.
What great finds have you found for Mother’s Day? We usually go somewhere or do something to celebrate time together. Sage Scott of Everyday Wander also had some great ideas to check out! I’d love to hear your suggestions!
