Classic Calender celebrates 25 Years at Penfield IL
For anyone that loves antique tractors, John Harvey’s Classic Tractor Fever Calendar has probably been a mainstay in your home over the years. This year at the Historic Farm Days in Penfield, Illinois, they are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the calendar with a banquet, a gigantic birthday cake, door prizes and an auction of toy tractors and classic tractor memorabilia.
There should also be several of the calendar tractors on hand as well. It is always fun to see these beautiful tractors and meet the people that own them.
Thursday evening, July 10th Max Armstrong will be master of ceremony for this event that is a tribute to the wonderful John Harvey.
If you have never been to the I & I Tractor Club’s Historic days you are missing out. This is one of my favorite tractor shows of the summer where they serve up historic farming and profiles antique tractors.
Historic Farm Days runs from 7/10/2014 to 7/13/2014. This year at the show they are also celebrating the 75th anniversary of the 9N Ford tractor. Antique tractor collectors come to this annual event along with those that like construction equipment. The Regional Construction show is held in conjunction with Historic Farm Days.
The 2014 tractor show is a reunion for many groups including a tractor puller reunion. There will be a tractor pull on the grounds on Saturday night and after the pull, Jansen Farms Sparks show is a don’t miss event.
The show is located 10 miles east of Rantoul; just south of Route 136 you will find Penfield IllinoisWhile at the show be sure to stop in and check out the agricultural museum located in the former school. For more information about Historic Days, log onto http://www.antiquefarm.org/.
