Caveat About Tractor Shows
This year I’m a little late putting together my antique tractor show calendar. Each year I start with this note to check and make sure that before hitting the road that the event is still happening. Events change, things happen, so don’t leave home without making sure the event is still taking place. Double check the time, and date in case there was an error on a website. Make sure that the event is still on and has not been cancelled!
Midwest Truck & Trailer Show
February 3-4, 2023, in Peoria, Illinois the Midwest Truck and Trailer Show is at the Peoria Civic Center. Put on by the Midwest Trucker’s Association, Don Schaefer shared that antique trucks and a tractor or two may be on hand. There is also free admission!
41st Gateway Mid-America Toy Show
February 3-5, 2023, in St. Louis at the Sheraton Westport, the Gateway MId-America Toy Show is a favorite because of the farm model contest. Toy vendors set up and on Saturday there is a model and farm layout contest and live auction. It’s a great place to see scratch-built toys and nice memorabilia as well.
National Farm Machinery Show
February 15- 18, 2023, the National Farm Machinery Show is held in Louisville, Kentucky. This is the show to learn about technological advancements in farming. This is the country’s largest indoor farm show. While there is the latest and greatest, there is usually antique equipment on display along with toys as well. There is the Championship Tractor Pull as well. We like to stay in New Albany, IN. It is easier to find lodging and has great food!
Florida Flywheeler Antique Engine & Tractor Show
February 22-25, 2023, in Avon Park, Florida. This is the 30th annual Florida Flywheeler’s show. This year they are featuring Oliver and Cockshutt tractors. The HPOCA group is going to hold their winter convention at the Flywheelers this year. At the show grounds they feature a wonderful village with a lot of history, and a great flea market. We love going here when we can! Note register for a golf cart by the first of January because they go fast, and you need one to navigate the huge grounds.
HPOCA Oliver Winter Convention
February 22, 2023, The Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors are hosting the HPOCA Winter Get Together at the Florida Flywheelers in conjunction with the Florida Flywheelers show since Oliver is the featured tractor.
Minneapolis Moline Winter Show
February 23-25, 2023, the MM Winter event will take place at the Best Western Plus Steeplegate in Davenport, Iowa. Best of all there are farm tours to go with this great event along with a banquet. We are going to give this a go this year!
Sublette Toy Show
March 16-17, 2023in Sublette, 40th annual Sublette Toy Show one of our favorite farm toy shows where the town of 500 explodes to thousands. They offer a wonderful Sunday breakfast. There are tractors outside and farm toys inside. Lots of fun at this two-day event that funds the town sports!
International Harvester Winter Convention
March 16-18, 2023, Roanoke, Virginia at the Holiday Inn Valley View. There is not a lot of information online, I think more in in Red Power and Harvester Highlights.
Pioneer Swap Meet
April 28-30, 2023-in Le Sueur, Minnesota. The Pioneer Swap Meet is a fun show where anything goes. When farming and the weather allow, we love to attend this show where you find anything from bird houses to ski shoes! This is a favorite of the hubby if he’s not in the fields, we go!
Badger Steam and Gas Flea Market
May 5-7, 2023 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. This is a new swap meet for us and we attended the Badger Steam and Gas Flea Market for the first-time two years ago.
Tri-State Gas Engine Swap Meet
May 18-21, 2023, in Portland, Indiana- This year will be the 40th annual Tri-State Gas Engine Swap Meet. This Indiana meet is held in the area across from the Jay County Fairgrounds. The meet has lots of parts and you can find almost anything you are looking for and more.
AJ’s Garden Tractor Jamboree
May 20, 2023, in Oregon, Illinois- Come to the fun lawn and garden one day show and more when the Hinrich’s family open up their sheds and more!
Bushnell Illinois Tractor Club Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Show
May 28-29, 2023, Bushnell, Illinois they are gathering for tractors, prizes, food and fun!
Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine Extravaganza/Classic Iron Show
June 9-11, 2023, Evansville, Indiana. The Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine Extravaganza is Kate Goelzhauser’s baby, and it is a fun show that I want to get back to! Kate reminded me what a fun show it is to attend. The Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine Extravaganza and SIAM Classic Iron Show is held at the Vanderburgh 4-H Center. This year they are featuring Ford Fordson tractors, Ford Garden tractors, Emerson and Brantingham gas engines and pumping engines. The Extravaganza welcomes back the 4×4 custom tractors!
Classic Green Reunion 2023
June 15-17, 2023, Lebanon, Tennessee is home to this year’s John Deere Classic Green Reunion It will be held at the Wilson County Expo Center and is featuring the JD D, 110 and Generation II. The Classic Green are fun events with a lot of unique events and rare equipment involved!
Red Power Round Up 2023
June 15-17, 2023, in Grand Island Nebraska. Doug Hrbek and Lynn Holdermann reminded me that the 2023 RPU is celebrating 100 years of the Farmall tractor. This is always a personal favorite show for me!
Morgan County Antique Machinery Association
June 23-25, 2023, Martinsville, Indiana, the 31st antique machinery show my friend Tosha Daugherty shared with me. Besides a show, they also offer a flea market. I hope to get to this show sometime soon!
Horse Progress Days
June 3-July 1st, 2023, Horse Progress Days in Shipshewana, Indiana come watch old fashioned farming in beautiful Amish country. Shared by my friend Sonya Harman-Nash she said this a great way to see farming with horses!
Ag Corps Tractor Drive
June 25, 2023 – Ag Corps Tractor Drive for a Cause will be at the Calvin Elder Farm 1875 E. 2975 North Road, Mt. Auburn, IL 62547. Leaving at 8 AM sharp, the drive is approximately 30 miles. No tractors under 10 mph. Donations for Drive and lunch are appreciated. All tractors and ATV’s welcome. Lunch is served by Kedron Masonic Lodge. Historic Farm Days
July 13-16, 2023, Penfield, Illinois – This year at Historic Farm Days they are featuring John Deere equipment along with the 100th Anniversary of the Introduction of the “D” Tractor e “E” Engine. The 2nd feature will be David Bradley tractors. Each year there is something fun to see! This event also features an agricultural museum and is put on by the I & I Club!
Hillsboro’s 25th Annual Old Tyme Tractor Show
July 15-16, 2023, Lake Hillsboro Park, Hillsboro, Illinois, Antique tractors, equipment, vehicles, tools, collectibles and hit and miss engines. there is also a flea market and craft and vendor section. For more information, contact Arlen Kasten at 217-341-8690 or Judy Probst at 217-851-0397. This is a show that the Midstate Collectors Club that we belong to has long supported!
Will County Threshermen’s Association’s 61st Annual Antique Tractor & Steam Engine Show
July 20-23, 2023, in Manhattan, Ilinois, near Wilton Center, IL. Minneapolis Moline and Single Cylinder Stationary engines are the featured brands. This show was recommended by Jess Crane
Markeing & PR for Will County Threshermen’s Assocation. The show offers food vendors, craft & flea market, magic show, petting zoo, Frankfort Brass Band, Civil War Living History, daily parade of power, antique & garden tractor pulls, fieldwork demonstrations, saw milling, corn shelling, threshing, & more!
Central Kentucky Antique Machinery Association Show & Pull
July 27-29, 2023, in Paris, Kentucky is the 52nd annual Central Kentucky Antique Machinery Association Show and Pull. Brian Scott shared with me that, “This is one of the longest running in the state of Kentucky. This year’s feature is the iconic John Deere. Our club is one of the oldest in the nation.”
After looking up the cool town of Paris, I admit I am inclined to go to this show just to see the beautiful area and cool downtown of Paris! For details, besides their website, check out the facebook page.
Western Thresher’s Reunion
The first weekend in August in Hamilton, Illinois is the Western Thresher’s Reunion. This is a fun show that offers up a complete line of antique tractors, cars, trucks, and gas engines in Western Illinois. My husband is a huge fan of their evening meal!
National John Deere G Model G Reunion II
August 10-13, 2023, in Altamont, Illinois at the Effingham County Fairgrounds. This will also be the John Deere Centennial D Celebration. Put on by the Southern Illinois Green Iron Club, and Mill Road Thresherman’s Association the event has tractors, engines and more!
Illinois State Fair 2023
August 10-20, 2023, at the Illinois State Fair Grounds- it is anticipated that there will be an antique tractor display again this year. Collectors bring their tractors and fair visitors get the chance to look them over in this fun setting!
American Thresherman Association Show
August 16-20, 2023, in Pinckneyville, Illinois at the American Thresherman showgrounds. This will be the 63rd Annual Show. This year they are featuring Illinois J.I. Case Collectors.
Badger Steam and Gas Show
August 18-20, 2023, the show is held in Baraboo, Wisconsin at the showgrounds! The Badger Steam and Gas Show is on, and a couple years ago we stayed at the cool Ringling Bed and Breakfast when we went last year that added a fun variation in this town with tons of circus history. There are also fun dining options.
Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show
August 23-26, 2023, in Portland, Indiana, the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show is a show staple for my husband held at the Jay County Fairgrounds. This is the 58th show and they offer a nice variety of tractors and history.
Half Century of Progress 2023
August 24-27, 2023, in Rantoul, Illinois. The Half Century of Progress is the largest working farm show in the world! This mega show is held on the former Chanute AFB and the show has antique equipment from 50 years ago and older performing in the field along with static displays! If you don’t miss any other show this year, make sure to make it to this one!
Midwestern Thresher’s Reunion
August 31-September 4, 2021, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa the Old Thresher’s Reunion is a steam lover’s tractor reunion show. This show offers everything from steam engines, antique cars and trucks, tractors, gas engines, and horses. They even have entertainment as well!
Central States Reunion tractor show
August 31-September 1, 2023, this Labor Day show Central States Reunion is held at Pontiac, Illinois and is one of the oldest shows in the US. This year the show will feature J.I Case, and they are featuring the 37th JI Case Foundation Expo. This town also has great Route 66 history!
Rock River Thresheree
Labor Day Weekend 2023, in Edgerton, Wisconsin, Rock River Thresheree show will be held. They are restoring an electric car! This is one of the older shows ones held over the Labor Day weekend and a favorite!
Antique Tractor Show, Big Boys Toys/Rural King
September 8, 4-9, and Saturday September 9, 2023 9-6, at Paducah, Kentucky, Paducah Expo Center. Marisa Kilgore of Rural King shared this fun show with me. If in the area, check it out. The show is in conjunction with the Big Boy Expo.
2023 Albany Pioneer Days
September 14 -17, 2023, in Albany, Minnesota, Thomas Nix shared what he called, “the greatest show on Earth” Albany Pioneer Days which will feature Cockshutt tractors, equipment, and memorabilia feature. Gas Engine Feature is Associated Engines. The show address is 21565 360th Street, Albany, MN 56307.
Antique Engine and Tractor Association
September 15-17, 2023, in Geneseo, Illinois. International Harvester will be the featured show this year for the AETA Association’s 62ndst show! This is also the 100th anniversary of the Farmall tractor.
Vintage Farm Equipment Show
September 16, 2023, Atkinson, Illinois this show’s focus is the Young Collectors Group. Knowing that they are the FUTURE of not only this wonderful hobby that we share but also the preservation of the history. For more information, check out the facebook page! This is a fun show with a museum and a lot of heart. Our friend Dave Carton updated us about it!
Prairieland Heritage Museum Steam Show and Fall Festival Days
Always held the 3rd weekend in September, this show, the Praireland Heritage Show, features a museum, flea market and lots of cool antique tractors. This is that show that is just when the field work is almost finished so sometimes the farmers can go, sometimes not, but it is always high on Keith’s want to be there list!
Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association Swap Meet
October 6-8, 2023, this is located across the street the Tri-State meet is across from the Jay County Fairgrounds is a swap meet with antique engine and tractor related parts!
38th Fall Harvest Days Antique County Engine & Tractor Show
October 13 -15, Fletcher, Western North Carolina Agriculture Center1 301 Fanning Bridge Rd, Fletcher, NC. Larry Phillips Vendor Chair, Apple Country Engine and Tractor Association recommended Apple Fall Harvest Days Antique County Engine & Tractor Show, this show offers Tractors, Hit n Miss Engines, Crafts, Parts, Tools, Collectibles, Toys More Featuring – International Harvester Brands 8am to 5pm daily rain or shine Tractor Pull on Saturday beginning 10am.
National Farm Toy Show
First weekend in November in Dyersville, Iowa. The National Farm Toy Show is the granddaddy of the toy shows and is the National show bringing toy collectors from all over to this little town in Iowa. Hosted by Toy Farmer, the show is a staple for farm toy collectors! Dyersville offers a lot besides just the show as well!
Georgia National Antique Ag Show
2nd weekend in November they hold this amazing show, The Georgia National Antique Ag Show in Perry, Georgia. This was our first time attending and we loved it!
