Farm Shows and old iron

Farm Show

Farm shows are the tractor shows of winter. Here those in the agricultural community can see the latest and greatest in farming technology. Sometimes there is also some cool old iron! Recently, at the Greater Peoria Farm show, I saw some fun farm finds!

Don Miske and his miniature 4020

Don Miske of Allenton, Wisconsin had a miniature John Deere 4020 he had created. The miniature model was set up with the Fellowship of Christian Farmers. “This was a John Deere 110, 1965. I bought it at a Mecum Auction. My dad bought a new John Deere 4020 in 1965,” Don shared.

Using two John Deere 110’s, he created this miniature masterpiece. Don had already created two previous 4020 miniatures. This was his 3rd.

He sold his full-sized JD 4010 at one of Mecum Auctions. This is where he first saw a miniature. That’s how he got the idea to build these. In the future, the miniature 4020 will be auctioned off. The money will be donated to Fellowship of Christian Farmers

River Valley Antique Association

Another booth featuring antique tractor miniature models was the River Valley Antique Association. This year, August 17-19, 2024, will be their annual tractor show and pull. The show will be held at Butler Haynes Park in Mapleton, Illinois. The 2024 feature will be Allis Chalmers.

At their booth was the amazing Avery 8-16 that a club member built! The group also had an Allis Chalmer’s pedal tractor onsite that they were raffling off!

The Central Illinois Farm Heritage Tractor Club

The Central Illinois Farm Heritage Tractor Club also had a nice display of antique tractors. There was a lovely Oliver, Farmall, and Farmall Demonstrator for visitors to enjoy.

Antique tractors, tractor models, and enthusiasts here, there, and everywhere!

Where have you recently got your farm fix?
