Looking Good While Traveling!

looking good while traveling

Whether flying, driving, riding on a train or bus, we all want to look good while traveling! This can sometimes be difficult while on the road. Long travel times, wrinkled clothes and more. To get advice on how to stay fashionable on the road, I turned to some experts.

Linda Spanberger, flight attendant for United Airlines, flies all over the world. Her opinion on fashion is spot on. “Fashion is a link between art and self-expression. One reveals their personality through clothing and hair styles. Hence the term ‘fashion statement’.”

Advice from the experts for all!

While traveling, what do you want your fashion statement to be? James Firestein, Founder and CEO at OpenLuxury had some advice. “As a fashion stylist, I’ve helped many clients look and feel their best while traveling. The key is planning ahead and choosing versatile pieces that are wrinkle-resistant, pack well, and can be mixed and matched to create multiple outfits.”

James added, “I recommend neutral-colored basics like black pants, jeans, simple dresses, button-down shirts, and knit tops and layering with scarves, jewelry, and jackets. Fabrics like merino wool, microfiber, and performance fabrics like nylon and polyester tend to hold up well. I advise staying away from delicate fabrics like silk or cashmere which wrinkle easily.”

Advice for the male travelers.

Sartoro’s Founder and CEO, Andy Fine, shared information for the male traveler about looking good on the go with Sartoro brand products. “Hitting the road doesn’t mean sacrificing your sense of style. Sartoro offers custom-made clothing that combines comfort and sophistication, perfect for any adventure.”

To look good, Andy Fine advises, “Look polished and feel amazing with these fits: Black Ultrasoft Bamboo Shirt, a luxuriously soft bamboo shirt that is wrinkle free making it ideal for packing. Or try Sartoro’s Ivory Cotton Chino Pants that are crafted from durable cotton. He says, “These are comfortable for long journeys and versatile enough to dress up or down.”

He also suggests the Bryant Black Sharkskin Jacket which will add a touch of timeless elegance. Wrinkle resistant he adds, “It is perfect for layering.”

Layering seems to be key to looking good while traveling. “Sartoro makes travel style effortless,” Andy Fine said.

They offer custom-made clothing for men with a perfect fit that flatters your figure. High-quality fabrics that are comfortable and wrinkle resistant. Sartoro has a fast and easy online ordering process. It is easy to see their full collection!

Advice for female travelers

Karen Poirier, Midlife Compassion Coach and founder at Embrago a brand that is revolutionizing women’s travel ware shared insights and innovative solutions for stylish and comfortable travel. “My clothing line with built-in bust support eliminates the need for bras and shapeware and so addresses common travel fashion dilemmas with a unique approach that combines style, comfort, and practicality.”

Karen Poirier offers advice during a long-haul flight on how to look stylish. “The key is choosing versatile pieces that offer both comfort and style. For example, Embrago’s Full Support Bra-Free top paired with comfortable pants provides a put-together look that’s also perfect for napping. The breathable organic cotton keeps you fresh throughout the journey.”

With bust sizes all the way from 35 to 53 Embrago fits a variety of sizes.

To keep clothes looking good on the road, Karen’s advice paired with James. “Opt for wrinkle-resistant fabrics and pieces that naturally repel odors.”

This is a point I had not thought about, but one that is very important for long travel times. Embrago’s line actually is made from premium organic cotton that naturally releases odors. She adds that this means, “You can wear items multiple times before washing, perfect for extended trips.”

Karen points out also how to be comfortable, but not look sloppy. “Layer with a purpose. Start with a comfortable stylish base like Embrago’s Bra-Free Fit Flare Dress. It provides all day comfort for long car rides while looking chic enough for roadside stops and photo ops.”

Packing

As for packing James Firestein said, “Roll rather than fold our clothes and use packing cubes, garment bags, and foldable luggage to minimize wrinkles.”

I personally have found rolling to be a successful way to keep clothes fresh. I often pick out the outfit, put it together and roll it up. It stays almost wrinkle free. James continued, “Hang up formalwear in the bathroom while showering to release wrinkles. For extra crispness, use a hand steamer or iron out wrinkles in the hotel room. A lint roller and small travel-sized wrinkle-releaser spray can fix clothes refreshed in a inch. Bring extra hangars to give items a chance to air out. And make sure to have a contingency outfit in case of spills or stains.”

Who hasn’t been in that situation, especially when wearing white?

Karen Poirier also had a packing tip as well. “Choose multi-functional pieces. Embrago’s tops and dresses serve as both outer garments and supportive undergarments, eliminating the need to pack separate bras. This saves space and ensures you’re always comfortably supported.”

The wrap!

“A little planning goes a long way in helping you put your best foot forward when traveling,” James Firestein concluded.

Fashion comes in a variety of styles and sizes. You can study it, go to shows, dress for occasions or a special event, but it doesn’t matter if the garment doesn’t hold up, look good on you, or withstand the trip! Hopefully the advice in this article will help keep you looking good while traveling and let you find your perfect travel fashion statement as Linda said.
