Movement Fashion Show at the Pharmacy Gallery!

Last Friday evening I got my art and fashion fix at the Pharmacy Gallery & Art Space in Springfield, Illinois! The mission of the Pharmacy Art gallery is ” to cultivate and celebrate expressions of multidimensional artists. We strive to be a catalyst and forum for advancing, discovering, and connecting through contemporary art. We enrich and educate the community through innovative cultural events.”

I have been going through withdrawal since one of my favorite TV shows Project Runway has not been on. Creating something from nothing truly fascinates me and I had a chance to see several artists do just that September 10th! The gallery show was the following day September 11th.

My friend Sandy went with me to see the new art on display and watch the fashion show. Walking around Sandy and I took in the art. Artist Mark Mangiaracina graciously allowed me to take his photo in front of his paintings. I enjoyed his vibrant colors. Mark a teacher in New Berlin is originally from Sherman, Illinois.

This was a wonderfully creative opening to the show!

How creative was this paper outfit?

The Pharmacy Gallery runway started at seven and included a fun array of fashion from a robot opening to weaving and more. There were some beautiful painted jackets to a photo T-shirt. Then there was pure art like a flower pot outfit and one of my favorites an outfit made from paper. Art in fashion brought artists and the public out. They were all ages to see something new and different. Art makes the world go round. We are lucky in Central Illiinois to have the Pharmacy to be able to attend fun events like this!
