King Dough Pizza – a dining experience

After a wonderful tour of the historic Wylie House, last week, I had the opportunity to dine at King Dough Pizza.  This was a hosted meal and our server was amazing.  She had been the General Manager, come up with recipes  in the kitchen and she had did just about everything that could be done in the restaurant.  This talented young woman explained all the options that were available to us and Erin White from the Bloomington CVB shared with Sara of Travels With Sara and I some of her favorite menu items as well.

Erin had chosen what she says is the premier dining spot right in the front of the diner where there is a lot of light and you can see outside right onto the lovely Bloomington square.

King Dough Pizza is special because they offer house made wood fired pizza in downtown Bloomington.  The pizzas are sized 13-inches and are perfect to split. They were surely big enough for the three of us!  The salad was fresh and tasty and we ate every bite of the flatbread with a dip, appetizer we chose.  We also ordered  a Big Boy pizza which had red sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, spicy Italian sausage, red onion, Kalamata olives, peppadew and Parmesan and a wonderful salad called the Sweetie which had spinach, field greens, roasted chicken, strawberries, blueberry, goat cheese, candied pecans and balsamic vinegar.

Everything was wonderful the dough is truly king!  For more information about this fun stop, log onto www.kingdoughpizzas.com.
