Antique Tractor Calendar 2022
It’s that time of year again! Time to start thinking about tractors and shows and making plans for your own antique tractor calendar! As the days get shorter and the snow flies, we like to hunker down and start planning for the shows to come. We found a few new ones and got a few great suggestions to add to the mix along with the old tried and true. Here is our favorite list to mull over! Pick out the ones you want to attend and see old friends and make some new ones along the way! Below is a picture of tractor friends and family at the Franklin Tractor Drive from this past summer!
Caveat about shows
Always make sure before hitting the road that the event is still happening. Things happen as we know from the 2021 antique tractor calendar. Events change quickly. Don’t leave home without making sure the event is still taking place. Double check the time and date in case there was an error on a website. Make sure that the event is still on and has not been cancelled!
40th Gateway Mid-America Toy Show
February 4-6 in St. Louis at the Sheraton Westport, The Gateway Mid-America Toy Show is a favorite. Toy vendors set up and on Saturday there is a model and farm layout contest. It’s a great place to see scratch-built toys and nice memorabilia as well.
National Farm Machinery Show
February 16-19, the show is held in Louisville, Kentucky. This HUGE event, the NFMS is back this year. Held at the Kentucky Exposition Center with 890 exhibitors it is the country’s largest indoor farm show. This is where to learn about what is new and upcoming in farming equipment. There is usually antique equipment on display along with toys as well. There is the Championship Tractor Pull as well. We like to stay in New Albany, IN. It is easier to find lodging and has great food!
Florida Flywheelers Antique Engine & Tractor Show
February 22-25 in Avon Park, Florida. This is the 29th annual Florida Flywheeler’s show . This year they are featuring John Deere tractors. There is nothing like heading south during snow flying to a tractor show. At the show grounds they feature a wonderful village with a lot of history, and a great flea market. We love going here when we can! Note register for a golf cart the first of January because they go fast, and you need one to navigate the huge grounds.
HPOCA the Oliver Winter Convention
March 11-12, 2022-The Central States Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors are hosting the HPOCA Winter Get Together at the Chuck M. Pohlman Ag Complex. The Chuck M. Pohlman Ag Complex is located at 2301 E Benjamin Ave, Norfolk, NE 68701, USA. This is a show I’ve never been to, but it sounds like fun!
Gathering of the Green
March 16-19, 2022, in Davenport, Iowa the Gathering of the Green takes place. This event happens every two years. It is a celebration of John Deere equipment, history and memorabilia. They also offer tours and educational workshops! Every time I have went, I have found great history!
Minneapolis Moline Winter Show

March 17-19, 2022-The MM Winter event will take place at the American Farm Heritage Museum in Greenville, Illinois. This is a great venue and a show I went to years ago!
Sublette Toy Show
March 19-20-in Sublette, 40th annual Sublette toy show, one of our favorite toy shows. They offer a wonderful Sunday breakfast. There are tractors outside and farm toys inside. Lots of fun at this two day event that funds the town sports!
International Harvester Winter Convention – Cancelled
March 24-26, 2022, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is the site of the IH winter convention. The convention is a meeting with educational seminars and tours! The meeting space this year sounds awesome although there has been some confusion because they changed the dates of the event. –This event was cancelled due to hotel issues Boo Hoo!
Pioneer Swap Meet
April 22-24-in Le Sueur, Minnesota. The Pioneer Swap Meet is a fun show where anything goes. Last year we got in over 10,000 steps checking out this wonderful swap meet where they have anything and everything! This is a favorite of the hubby if he’s not in the fields, we go!
Badger Steam and Gas Flea Market
May 8-6 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. We attended the Badger Steam and Gas Flea Market for the first-time last year. Lots of fun stuff to see. Near Baraboo thereis extensive circus history, we stayed at the Ringling House Bed and Breakfast, and that was great fun!
Tri-State Gas Engine Swap Meet
May 18-21 in Portland, Indiana- This year will be the 40th annual Tri-State Gas Engine Swap Meet. This Indiana meet is held in the area across from the Jay County Fairgrounds. The meet has lots of parts and you can find almost anything you are looking for and more.
Spoon River Valley Antique Tractor Show
May 28-29 in Bushnell, Illinois – This fun show and the Spoon River Valley Antique Tractor Club‘s club house is a former IH dealership. The location is a former horse farm. Rick Shaw had a great story about this on his Antique Mafia site at The Clubhouse – Antique Iron Media.
Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine Extravaganza/Classic Iron Show
June10-12 in Evansville, Indiana. The Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine Extravaganza is Kate Golezhuser’s baby and it is a fun show that I want to get back to! Lawn and garden Nirvana! The Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine Extravaganza and SIAM Classic Iron Show is held at the Venderburgh 4-H Center. This year they are featuring Minneapolis Moline and Oliver tractors, Stover and Illinois-built gas engines.
Red Power Round Up 2022
June 22-25 in Springfield, Ohio, the 2022 RPU is a Midwest event. This Farmall Red event is the highlight for all things IH. If you love International Harvester this is the show to attend. This is the 33rd show. They are celebrating the 75th edition of the Cub and KB Series trucks.
Rumley Allis Chalmers La Porte Heritage Center 5th Annual Tractor Show
June 24-26 in La Porte, Indiana the Indiana A/C is Partnering with the /club state show to feature Allis Chalmers and Rumley. The show will be held at the SW corner of the La Porte County Fairgrounds. This is a show I need to get to again! This year they have a newly expanded lawn and garden tractor corral featuring Bolens lawn and garden tractors.
Historic Farm Days
July 7-10, Penfield, Illinois – This year at Historic Farm Days they are featuring Ford tractors, equipment and trucks. The 2nd feature will be David Bradley tractors. Each year there is something fun to see! This event also features an agricultural museum and is put on by the I & I Club!
Western Threshers Reunion
The first weekend in August in Hamilton, Illinois is the Western Thresher’s Reunion. This is a fun show that offers up a complete line of antique tractors, cars, trucks, and gas engines in Western Illinois
Illinois State Fair
August 11-21, at the Illinois State Fair Grounds- it is anticipated that there will be an antique tractor display again this year. Collectors bring their tractors and fair visitors get the chance to look them over in this fun setting!
American Thresherman Association Show
August 17-21 in Pinckneyville, Illinois at the American Thresherman showgrounds. This will be the 63rd Annual Show. This year they are featuring Minneapolis Moline, Ford and Fordson and Leader tractors. At this show you can always see steam and old iron at work!
Badger Steam and Gas Show
August 19-21 the show is held in Baraboo, Wisconsin at the showgrounds! The Badger Steam and Gas Show is on, and they plan on featuring Allis Chalmers equipment! We stayed at the cool Ringling Bed and Breakfast when we went last year that added a fun variation in this town with tons of circus history. There are also fun dining options.!
100 Years of Horsepower
August 25-27, 2002-Renner Stock Farms, 3412 Carlyle Ave, Belleville, IL 62221 is hosting the 2nd 100 Year’s of Horsepower! When I spoke to Tom Renner on July 13th, he said they were featuring Don Duffner’s 830 tractor and over 15 pairs of tandem tractors coming to the show. Other highlights include Kevin Bos’s collection, Keck Gonnerman collection, Bob the Corn Picker talking on cornpickers, corn shelling working in the field and more. There will be food, music and more!
Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show
Augus 24-27, in Portland, Indiana, the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show is a show staple for my husband held at the Jay County Fairgrounds. This is the 57th show and they offer a nice variety of tractors and history. This year they will feature Minneapolis Moline Tractors and Wisconsin Engines.
Midwestern Thresher’s Reunion
September 1-6 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa the Old Thresher’s Reunion is a steam lover’s tractor reunion show. This show offers everything from steam engines, antique cars and trucks, tractors, gas engines, and horses. They even have entertainment as well!
Central States Reunion
September 1-5, this Labor Day show Central States Reunion is held at Pontiac, Illinois and is one of the oldest shows in the US. This year the show will feature International Harvester and Graham Bradley! This town also has great Route 66 history!
Rock River Thresheree
September 2-5 in Edgerton, Wisconsin, Rock River Thresheree show is also one of the older ones held over the Labor Day weekend. With a cool pile driver, this show has lots of history and is a show stopper! The next show will be the 66th!
Vintage Farm Equipment Show
September 16, 2023, this fun show is one that our friend Dave Carton is involved in. The show is held at Bridge Park just west of downtown Atkinson. There have the Vintage Farm Equipment Museum. For more information, you can find the Vintage Farm Equipment Show on Facebook.
Antique Engine and Tractor Association
September16-18 in Geneseo, Illinois. John Deere will be the featured show this year for the AETA Association’s 61st show! This show has had a lot of history over the years like the year they celebrated the Moline Universal!
Prairieland Heritage Museum Steam Show and Fall Festival Days
Always held the 3rd weekend in September, this show, the Praireland Heritage Show, features a museum, flea market and lots of cool antique tractors. This is that show that is just when the field work is almost finished so sometimes the farmer’s can go, sometimes not, but it is always high on Keith’s want to be there list!
Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association Swap Meet
October 6-8 Across the street the Tri-State meet is across from the Jay County Fairgrounds is a swap meet with antique engine and tractor related parts!
National Farm Toy Show
First weekend in November in Dyersville, Iowa. The National Farm Toy Show is the granddaddy of the toy shows and is the National show bringing toy collectors from all over to this little town in Iowa. Hosted by Toy Farmer, the show has not been set up yet, but it is a doozey! Dyersville offers a lot besides just the show as well!
Georgia National Antique Ag Show
2nd weekend in November they hold this amazing show, The Georgia National Antique Ag Show in Perry, Georgia. This was our first time attending and we loved it!
