Farm Girl Adventures, a Sentimental Journey

My new book, Farm Girl Adventures was my first with the publisher, House of Honor. Jack LaFountain brought my short story collection to life. My antique tractor collector friend, Rick Shaw , who is a House of Honor author, and Antique Iron Media blogger, encouraged me to work with them. I am quite excited about the book. This book was released this week. This book has become quite a sentimental journey!

The journey!
My book is a short story collection. There are over 30 stories written over the years. This was a journey back through time. It was fun to update the stories and relive them again. The cover of the book is especially sentimental to me. It is a barn painting done by my late father, Bill Disque.

My husband Keith always says stick to your roots, and that is what I have done in this book, stick to my farm roots. House of Honor described the book perfectly. “Rural America is filled with stories that will never make the news.”
They go on to say, “They are not the stories of celebrities, the rich or the famous, but everyday people. Barns and tractors of America’s slower paced heartland replaces skyscrapers and rush of taxis to tell simple stories you will love to read. “
The book covers all phases of life. “The stories are of joy and sadness, hope ad heartbreak that will wrap you in the familiar cozy warmth of country life.”
They so get who I am, and the stories I have to share.
Book Debut

The book was published in time for the Books, Authors and Publishers (BAP) Book fair. In Nashville, Tennessee, I set up with Farm Girl Adventures and my other books. At BAP. I met House of Honor writers. Already knowing Rick Shaw, I and was excited to meet the publisher, and author extraordinaire, Jack LaFountain. I also got to meet fellow writers, Robert Borders, and Keshia Cecilia Willi.

Thanks to my friend’s generosity, Rick Shaw shared his table with me! As Rick shares in his blog about the show, we sold some books but spent our profits! “My profits were reinvested in other authors’ works. The old adage of coming back from the dump with more than I left with comes to my mind. I wasn’t immune, Cindy had done the same thing.”

Keith and Rick’s friend, Scott Rakes helped with varied assistance! Keith always jokes that he is my driver, loader, photographer and more! This day, he was also my beloved!

We celebrated 45 years together. It was our anniversary. We got married on March 1st, 1980, during a crazy snowstorm! This anniversary brought much more balmy weather!

Together we still are having fun at home, and on the road. I cherish the fact that he will have fun with me and share life’s journey.
Moving forward.

Janna Seiz bought my first copy. What fun signing my book to my friend! Next from House of Honor, is True Farm Girl Adventures. This book will be based on my blog, and beyond.
To all that come to my site, allow me to interview you, encourage me, read my articles, or have bought a book from me. Thank you for reading my stories. Thank you for caring enough to come along with me on this life journey!
Rick
I’m honored for the acknowledgement, I’m also humbled. You have been an inspiration from the beginning of my public writing career. Steering you to House of Honor and sharing my table for the book debute is only a small return payment.
