2024 Fall Travel Essentials Guide

fall travel essential guide

As we transition into a new season it is fun to share some of my latest finds in my fall travel essentials guide! Hitting the road as the leaves change offers new views and new adventures. It is nice to have the products that help ease the way along the road!

Snacks and Grooming!

Some things just make travel easier! One is having healthy snacks that can boost your energy like Hawaiin Healthy Chews I received to review. This caffeinated treat is tasty and my daughter that likes coffee especially enjoyed these. These treats taste like caramel coffee!

Easy grooming items are also important! I was quite enamored with J.R. Liggett’s shampoo bars. I received to try. Made with all natural ingredients, this cool little travel bag fits into any bag. I have tried the shampoo bar and like the way it makes my hair feel. This is a great way to pack shampoo without worrying about the liquid spill!

Jewlery

Oh, how I love jewelry, and I recently received the loveliest handcrafted bracelet to review! For the past week, I have been trying out my new cuff bracelet from Mimosa that is part of their Texas Collection. The design is a Barr owl and I just love it! Made by hand in our South Louisiana studio. Each piece varies slightly due to its handmade nature, all designs are cast metal. The design was a tribute to designer Madeline Ellis’s grandmother that loved owls. I love the way the bracelet fits, the look of it, and most of all the story behind it! Besides the owls, there are several other designs as well.

Bags!

This is a new release, the Foldie Sling Bag I received to review. I love so many things about this cross-body sling bag. First, the theft protection, it is RFID safe! RFID stands for radio-frequency identification. The bag is washable and big enough to hold my wallet, keys and phone and a small notebook. This includes all my travel writing needs! Hands free is always the way to go for me. The bag comes in 11 colors. I choose black because that will go with anything on the road. They have larger bags as well, and they all fold! I love travel bags, and this is a great one. I have been using this on a regular basis and love that it fits my every day needs!

The Cincha Travel bag is another I got to check out! I tried out my new Cincha travel bag, this great bag was perfect for heading to the Spoon River Drive. It worked wonderfully as a stylish sling, it held my phone, money and essentials! It was great during the Spoon River a fun festival that takes place the first two weeks in October. This festival is an annual event for my hubby.

The bag also serves as a regular travel belt and has a secure zip closure. The belt also will secure to a suitcase. Made from up cycled and water-resistant nylon, it fit everything perfectly for a day that I wanted to be hands-free while shopping out and about.

I was excited to try my new WanderFull Hydrobag. This is a great Crossbody bag that holds a drink I received it to review. This was my companion during my fun tour agritourism trip in the northeast region of Kansas. Hosted by Kansas Tourism, this was great to be able to have my phone, money, and a water or drink with me as I did outdoor adventures. The bag accompanied me on a hike, through a pumpkin patch and all-over northeast Kansas. It will be my outdoor go to bag!

The Rollink 4 Wheel spinner

Packing is always a chore. I roll my clothes to save space and like to keep my suitcase as light as possible. I was thrilled to receive the Rollink 4-wheel spinner to review. This is the world’s slimmest 4-wheel spinner, a 22″ carry on. However, it expands, making it perfect for my upcoming train travel to Chicago! Easy to move, lots of room, perfect! I have taken this on two recent trips. One was on the Amtrak where it fit perfectly with my five day packed clothes in the overhead area! Then it went with me to Kansas on my agritourism trip and worked equally well as I carried it up into a treehouse, a covered wagon and a ranch. The light weight aspect and easy packing makes this my take everywhere suitcase!

The Original Muck Boot & Dr. Motion Socks and Coalatree pants!

During recent trips, I have been very active, hiking, horseback riding, and participating in adventurous activities. For these kinds of tasks, I need pants that are comfortable, easy to move in, and with deep pockets to hold phone, keys, and wallet. The trailhead pants by Coalatree Eco-Minded Goods, that I received are perfect. They are water resistant which is great for these cool, wet fall days, and the fabric has four-way stretch moving with me! Another amenity of the deep pocket is that you can stuff the pants into the front right pocket and turn it into a travel pillow. . They are comfortable and are warm while heading out on the road even my cat approves!

What is more fun than swap meets or fall festivals? If my husband Keith is not in the fields, we like to hit corn picking days, fall tractor shows and we especially love the Spoon River Drive, Covered Bridge Festival and other great fall adventures. While you can predict the event will happen, what you can’t predict is the weather. If the rain comes, Keith is ready with this great original Muck Boot! We received these to review. These Chore Western boots are 100% waterproof. The square toe boots are fashionable, yet sturdy. Although he is a farmer, not a cowboy, this is the perfect fit. Keith has been keeping them in the back of his truck ready for a muddy field or festival. He won’t let a little rain stop him from seeing that part, machine, or flea market find he is after!

Like Keith, I am often out walking at tractor shows, hiking trails, or pounding the pavement at historic sites. While trying to stay fit for travel, I consider comfort is a big consideration, so I was thrilled to receive the pretty, comfortable and breathable Dr. Motion compression socks to review, which they said, “are for small town and big city adventures”.

I have received the crew socks before, but this was the first time I got a pair of the knee socks. I love them and find that I use them as much for slippers as well as with comfortable footwear.

Flea Market Finds and comfort clothes!

Lately I have been finding a few great fleamarket finds in the way of clothing! This last year, our children and their spouses got us a great holiday gift, a trip to Wayne County Indiana! We stayed at the wonderful Inn at High Hats which is above the High Hats Antique Mall. This was a spacious, beautiful place in downtown, historic Cambridge City. We antiqued, dined, and shopped.

Before heading over the Cambridge City, we went to the antique tractor show and flea market in Portland, Indiana. This year like a couple of years ago, we scored a ride on a biplane!

That was amazing! While at the Jay County Fairgrounds I spied a great flea market find, a cool dress that is light, pretty, and perfect for daytrips!

While traveling, I loved my new floral nightgown I received for review! Made by the Ekouaer line of Pj’s, the product is soft, comfy and luxurious!

Back at home

Before leaving on a fall adventure, I want my home and car to be up to par so I don’t have to worry when I return home. With laundry, checking mail and messages, there is enough to do on a return home! I received the great, Dovety 9 in 1 Multifunctional Electric Spin Scrubber for review.

This worked great in my shower and behind my tub where it is hard to reach. There is also a brush for the car which I want to try soon. What a variety of ways this tool can be used! I love that it makes cleaning easier, quicker, and more efficient! This helps me destress!

Travel Memories

While I usually pick up a piece of jewelry on my trips, there are many ways to make travel memories. My sister Debbie’s friend took a plain mug and jazzed it up. On all her trips, she places stickers of the places she visits and has a one-of-a-kind memory to take back home.

What kind of souvenir do you bring home? What travel essentials are you using that I should know about? I will add to my fall travel essential’s guide as I find new and different things to try. In the meantime, I hope these items spur some thoughts for you the next time you head out on a trip!
